My time in Buenos Aires

Ich weiß nicht genau, wie das passiert ist, aber irgendwie habe ich gerade tatsächlich mal wieder ein bisschen unverplante Zeit. Werde diese gleich nutzen, um hier langsam mal wieder auf einen halbwegs aktuellen Stand zu kommen. *** No idea how that happend, but finaly I found some not yet occupied time and I will use it to catch up with some events that took place allready a long time ago. *** No se, que paso pero por fin tengo un poco tiempo sin compromiso. Voy a utilizarlo directamente para escribir sobre algunas cosas que ya pasaron hace mucho tiempo para por fin tener un poco de actualidad aqui otra vez =)



Meine Osterwoche hat dieses Jahr schon am Freitag vorher angefangen. Seit ein paar Wochen helfe ich einer weiteren Freiwilligen in ihrem Projekt. Es liegt im Süden der Stadt und sie hat dort eine richtig coole Mädchengruppe ins Leben gerufen - auch wenn die hin und wieder an der besonderen Realität der Barrios (arme Stadtviertel) scheitert, macht es sehr viel Spaß da dabei zu sein. Am Freitag vor der Karwoche haben wir uns mit "Ostern" beschäftigt, eine Schatzsuche nach Ostereiern gemacht und ausgeblasene Eier angemalt. Letzeres kennt man hier eigentlich gar nicht, hat aber gut geklappt. *** This year, my holy week started allready friday before palm sunday. Since a couple of weeks I'm helping another volutneer in her proyect. It's in the south of the city and she started there a really cool group for girls. Even though once in a while the things that you plan clash with the reality of the barrio (poor parts of the city), it is really great fun to be there. Friday before the holy week we spoke about easter, did an easter treasure hunt and painted empty eggs. They do not really know that here (and in fact i'm not sure if this is not something really really german...) but it worked quite well. *** Este ano, mi semana santa ya empezó el viernes antes. Hace algunas semanas estoy ayudando a una otra volutaria en su proyecto. Esta en el sur de la cuidad y ella estaba instalando un grupo de chicas re piolas. Aun a vezes chocan nuestras planes con la realidad de este barrio, siempre me gusta muchissimo estar por ahi y tener tiempo con las chicas. El viernes antes de pasqua hablabamos sobre pasqua, buscamos un tesoro en el jardin y pintabamos huevos vacios. Me parece que eso es algo muy aleman, hay que sacar el claro y la yema del huevo y despues se puede decora como quiere. Aun no lo conocieron, funcionaba super bien y los huevos quedaron re lindos. * * um die ganze Schatzkarte zu bekommen, mussten die Mädels Aufgaben erfüllen, wie hier : eine Pyramide bauen. *** to get all the parts of the treasure map the girls had to
fulfill diferent duties, like here building a pyramid. *** para recibir los partes de la mapa, tuvieron diverentes tareas para hacer, como aqui: hacer una pyramida. nachdem sie alle Aufgaben mit Bravour erledigt hatten, gab es die verdiente Überraschung *** in the end they did a really really good job and found the
well deserved suprise *** hicieron todo superbien, asi por fin lograron a encontrar su sopresa merecida


Am Mittwoch - passend am Abend vor dem super langen Feiertagswochenende - gab es hier einen Jahrhundertsturm. Ich weiß nicht, ob ihr davon was gehört habt, anscheinend sind mehrere Gewitter aufeinandergetroffen und haben sintflutartigen Regen und Endzeitstimmung hervorgerufen. Wir hatten noch Glück (auch, wenn es auf den Fotos vielleicht nicht so aussieht), es ist nichts wirklich schlimmes passiert, aber manche Stadtteile haben starke Schäden davongetragen und hatten zwei Wochen weder Wasser noch Strom (was dann natürlich zu weiteren Komplikationen im öffentlichen Miteinander geführt hat).
Zum Glück waren wir fast alle da als es losging, so konnten wir unsere Wohnung in einem großen Gemeinschaftsakt vor dem Wegschwimmen bewahren. Das Foto ist leider ein bisschen klein, aber ungefähr so sahen wir aus, als es endlich aufgehört hat zu regnen und die Gefahr gebannt war *** wednesday evening just before the looooooong holiday weekend started, we had a millenium`s thunderstrom. I have no idea if there was something on the news around the world... it seems as if there where three diferent thunderstroms that met over the city of buenos aires and brought heavy rain and apocaliptic feelings. Even though it might not look like that on the pictures, we had a lot of luck and nothing really bad happend, but there are barrios and parts of the city without light and water for two weeks (what caused other trouble in the daily live as well)
Fortunatly as everything started, nearly all of us where around, so we could save - in a great team work - our houses from sailing away. The foto is a bit small, but like that we looked when the worst finally was over. *** El miercoles por la noche justo antes del finde largo tuvimos una tormenta increible. No se si escucharon algo sobre eso, fue impressionante... parece que se encuentran tres tormientas arriba de la cuidad, habia arto (!!!) lluvia y un sentimiento muy apocaliptica.
Aun las fotos talvez no parecen asi, nosotros aqui tuvimos mucha suerte... habian barrios donde no habia aqua ni luz por 2 semanas (y todos los conflictos entre la poblacion y el estado por eso)
Cuando empezó el tormienta, casi todos nosotros estuvimos y pudemos evitar que nuestras habitaciones se hundieron. La foto no es muy grande pero por lo menos se ve un poco como estabamos despues de 2 horas de peligro und so sah es ums ISEDET aus, als es wieder hell wurde: *** when it turned bright again, this was, what one could see
around ISEDET *** asi se ve el ISEDET cuando de nuevo habia luz * das Schlimmste bei uns war allerdings tatsächlich, dass wir vier Tage fast ohne Internet waren... die Schäden hielten sich also in Grenzen. *** but to be honest, the worst around here really was that we've been without internet for like four days... all in all we had a lot of luck! *** pero realmente tuvimos mucha suerte, lo peor fue, que no habia internet para 4 dias...

Am Gründonnerstag habe ich mit meinen Nachbarn Eier angemalt - wovon es, wie mir grad auffällt, allerdings keine Fotos gibt. Wir hatten geplant, am Samstag alle zusammen zu feiern (weil am Sonntag ja jeder seine Verpflichtungen in den unterschiedlichen Kirchen hat) und dafür haben wir Deko gebastelt und Eier zum verstecken für die Kinder angemalt. *** moundy thursday i painted eggs with some of my neighbours - as i just found out, there aren't any fotos about that... We had the idea to meet all on Saturday (as on Sunday everybody had his or her own compromises allready in the different churches) and did the deko for that and painted eggs to hide for the kids. *** me encontre con algunas vecinas - acabo de descrubir que no hay fotos de eso - para hacer la decoracion, pintar los huevos ... para el sabado, cuando quisiamos encontrarnos todos para festejar pasqua juntos (como domingo ya todos tuvieron sus proprios compromisos en sus iglesias) Ich glaube, ich habe noch nie in meinem Leben Eier ausgepustet - aber ich habe auch noch nie so viele Plätzchen geschweige denn Stollen zu Weihnachten gebacken und Osterbrot selber gemacht auch noch nie... und irgendwann muss man mit sowas ja auch mal anfangen =) *** I never ever did empty eggs before in my live... but i also never backed such an amount of christmas cookies or christmas bread and neither easter bread... sometime one have to start with being a little bit german =) *** Hasta ahora nunca hize este formas de huevos ... pero tampoco hize tantas galletas de navidad, ni pan de navidad ni pan de pasqua ... me parece que hay un tiempo para empezar de ser un poquito aleman =)


Morgens war ich in der deutschen Auslandsgemeinde in Martinez, die auch eine Gruppenstunde zum Thema Ostern für ihre Kinder organisiert hatte. Im Vergleich zu den Kids mit denen ich sonst "arbeite" war das dermaßen entspannend und erholsam... ich finde es immer noch und immer wieder erstaunlich wie unterschiedlich die Welten sind, in denen man sich in dieser Stadt aufhalten kann. *** During the morning i helped in the german parish in Martinez, who did some workshop for the kids with a lot of activities around easter. Compared with the kids i usually "work" it was that relaxed and restorative... I'm still and always again impressed by the diferent worlds you can meet in that same city. *** En la manana me fue a la paroquia alemana en Martinez. Ellos hizieron un taller de pascua y ayudaba un pocito. En comparacion con los chicos con cuales normalmente "trabajo" estaba tan tranquila y relajante... Me soprende todavia y cada vez de nuevo que diferente que son los dos mundos de este cuidad. * * *
Den Karfreitag haben wir mit den Methodisten gefeiert. Auch wenn das jetzt europäisch und nach Klischee klingt, aber das war der beste Karfreitagsgottesdienst, bei dem ich bisher war. Die deutschen Andachten zur Todesstunde finde ich immer... weiß auch nicht... der Anlass ist ja auch furchtbar... aber muss man deswegen auch furchtbar nichtssagende Andachten halten? Hier gab es einen Kreuzweg mit Bildern eines lateinamerikanischen Künstlers, mit Musik, die trotz des traurigen Anlasses noch Schwung hatte und mit kurzen relativ persönlichen Texten von Gemeindegliedern... insgesamt hat man in der Stunde eindeutig gemerkt, dass man an Karfreitag dort am Kreuz - gut befreiungstheologisch - bei weitem nicht nur Jesus sondern auch noch eine ganze Reihe von anderen Menschen leiden und sterben sieht. *** Good Friday we celebrated with the methodist parish, and really, even though that might sound very german/european and very esteriotypic... it was the best good friday prayer i've ever been to. In Germany, they usualy celebrate the prayer in the hour of Jesus' death and it's always... I don't know, the reason is horrible, but do one have to celebrate that horrible empty prayers??
Here we had a via crucis with pictures of a latinamerican artist, music, that was super aprobriat to the context but still had some rythm, and short but very personal texts from diferent parishmembers... So you could really see, that there on that cross on god friday - very from the liberacion theology - not only Jesus sufferd and died but a lot of other people as well... *** Para el viernes santo nos fuimos a los metodistas otra vez y realmente fue el mejor devocional de viernes santo que he attendido en mi vida... ya se que suena muy europeo y esterotipa pero aca este momento se daba tanto sentido... bueno, en aleman tienen un devotional siempre en la hora del muerte de Jesus y ... claro que la razon para hacerlo es muy tracico, pero tiene que significar eso que el devocional esta tan tracico vacio de contenido? (por lo menos en mi experiencia!) Aca tuvimos un calvario con imagines de un artisto latino americano, con musica aun triste con ritmo y con textos breves y personales de gente de la paroquia. Realmente uno pudo ver en este dia en la cruz suffriendo y muriendo no solo Christo pero todo su pueple opremido tambien (pobablamente para ustedes que hablan espaniol como primer idioma eso es muy normal... para mi era ... totalmente nuevo, aun conosco la teologia en el fondo) Das Kreuz haben die Kinder gestaltet. An Ostern haben sie es umgedreht, dann war es nicht mehr schwarz sondern strahlend gelb... *** the cross was made by the parish kids. On eastersunday it was turned around and not longer dark black but bright yellow... *** La cruz fue hecho de los ninos de la parroquia. El domingo santo cambiaron el lado y fue claro amarillo en vez de tan negro...

Am Ostersamstag war es dann soweit: große Feier im Garten! Fast alle, die hier wohnen sind zusammengekommen, haben was zu essen mitgebracht, sich spiele ausgedacht, eier versteckt usw... wir haben den ganzen Tag das Wetter genossen und gar nicht gemerkt, wie schnell die Zeit vergeht...
Auch wenn ihr vielleicht mit den Fotos nicht so viel anfangen könnt, weil ihr ja die Leute nicht kennt, hoffe ich, dass sie ein bisschen die Stimmung wiederspiegeln *** Eastersaturday finally was the day: the big meeting in the garden. Nearly everybody living here came, brought something to eat, thought about some games, hid the eggs for the kids... we stayed all day long in the garden, enjoying the nice weather and the great
communion and didn't even recognise the time flying by...
even though you probably don't know the people, i put some pictures as i hope the feeling is transfered by them *** El sabado santo finalmente llego EL dia para celebrar pascuas este ano. Casi todos que viven aca se unieron en el jardin, trajeron para comer y compartir, para jugar y disfrutar el dia. Y eso si hizimos.... todos en este lugar, como una familia super grande, celebrando la resurrecion del senior! No nos dabamos cuenta como vuelo el tiempo...
Aun talvez no conszen a la gente, puse algunas fotos para ver la onda buena que hubo! * * * * * * * * * Ostersonntag haben wir - wie auch schon den Palmsonntag bei unseren geliebten Methodisten gefeiert, es war wie immer sehr schön, guter Gottesdienst, super Musik, nette Leute, gutes Essen ... Soviel Ostern wie dieses Jahr hatte ich glaub ich bisher noch nie! *** Eastersunday we celebrated - just as palm sunday as well - with our loved methodists, it was like always, very very nice: a good service, great music, nice people and good food... I guess I never had such much easter as this year! *** El domingo pasamos con nuestros queridas metodistas, lindo como siempre: un buen culto, musica genial, gente amable, comida rica ... Nunca tuve tanta pascua como este ano!

Schon reichlich verspätet, aber so wichtig, dass ich jetzt trotzdem noch darüber schreibe, der 24. März, Dia de la Memoria (Tag der Erinnerung). An diese Feiertag (der so wichtig ist, dass er nicht so verschoben wird, dass es ein langes Wochenende gibt) wird der Opfer der Dikatur gedacht, sowie an Redefreiheit und Menschenrechte erinnert, damit soetwas wie die Verbrechen der Diktatur nunca mas (nie wieder) passieren können. Den ganzen Tag gibt es Demonstrationen und abends waren wir dabei. Es sind unglaublich viele Menschen unterwegs, Menschenrechtsorganisationen, ganz viele Gruppen, die auf unterschiedlichste Verschwundene aufmerksam machen (wir sind in der Gruppe der japanischen Verschwundenen mitgelaufen), Menschen, die auf Probleme in Sachen Meinungsfreiheit heute aufmerksam machen, Menschen, die ihre Rechte verletzt sehen, und auch eine Reihe von politisch (vor allem links orientierten) Gruppierungen, die die Veranstaltung genutzt haben, um sich öffentlich zu äußern. Und wir mitten drin! Das war erst meine zweite Demonstration (die erste war gegen Studiengebühren) und es war beeindruckend... auch wenn es schwierig ist, in diese besondere Atmosphäre einzutauchen, wenn man nicht auch in irgendeiner Weise Teil dieser Geschichte ist...










Even though allready a lot of time passed since we've participated in this event, it was that important, that i still would like to write about it. The 24th of March they celebrate Dia de la Memoria (memory day...?) here in argentina. On this holiday (which is that important, that they don't change its day to have a long weekend!) they remember the victims of the dictature time here and remind freedom of speech and opinion.
There where thousands of people, a lot of groups that still search missing people and justice for them (we went with a group of japanese people missing fathers, brothers, sisters...) Ngos that work in the kontext of human rights, groups of people that remind of missing freedom of speech in our days or groups that see their own human rights in danger... as well as political groups that used that day to publish their opinions (mostly from the more left wing). And we've just been in the middle of everything. It was really impressiv, it was my second demonstration (the first one was against paying for studiing)... Although i found out, that it is rather dificuilt to get into the mood, if you're not really part of the history as well... * Aun ya paso mucho tiempo, quise contarles que participamos en el dia de la memoria (24. marco). Me parece, que no tengo que explicar tanto, como ustedes probablamente saben que es y lo celebran en sus probrios paises ... supongo =)
Fue arto de gente, impressionante (nosotros fuimos con un grupo de japon que recordaron a sus amigos y familiares desaparecidos), tantos grupos!!! Me gustaba mucho, aun es re dificil ir con la misma honda sin ser parte de la misma histora tambien...

La Paz Eigentlich wollte ich nach 2007 immer zurück nach Bolivien - Argentinien war da immer eher eine "Notlösung". Auch, wenn ich wohl weiß, dass Cochabamba und La Paz nicht Bolivien sind (genausowenig wie Buenos Aires Argentinien), und dass diese zwei Städte noch lange kein auch nur im Ansatz komplettes Bild von Lateinamerika bieten, war es trotzdem mein Erstkontakt und trotz sehr viel Entwicklung in meinem persönlichen Verständnis von wegen "Was genau ist eigentlich Latein Amerika" muss ich doch sagen, dass Bolivien mein Bild davon immer noch sehr prägt und es sich auch viel mehr wie zurück nach Latein Amerika angefühlt hat, als ich in La Paz am Flughafen gelandet bin. *** To be honest, after my time in Bolivia en 2007, I always wanted to go back to that country - meanwhile Argentina was just a less-than-ideal solution. Even though I know, that Cochabamba and La Paz aren't Bolivia (just as Buenos Aires isn't Argentina) and that both don't show a picture of Latin America, it still was my first contact with this part of the world and even though I changed my mind a lot about the question "What the hell is Latin America", I still recall the bolivian pictures thinking about the continent and arriving in El Alto felt much more like arriving in Latin America than arriving in Buenos Aires. *** En realidad, despues del tiempo en 2007 siempre quisiera volver a Bolivia. Irme a Argentina siempre fue lo unico possible, pero ya no lo que realmente quisiera. Yo se, que Cochabamba y La Paz no son Bolivia (tampoco es Bs.As. Argentina) y mas alla de eso se que Bolivia no representa America Latina. Pero bueno, aunque cambiaba mucho mi pensamiento con respecto a la pregunta "Que es America Latina", la verdad es, que todavia Bolivia fue mi primer contacto con este continente y todavia influence mucho los imagenes que tengo en la cabeza pensando en "America latina" Voler alla se siento muy muy muy como volver a "America Latina"

YO SE que "America Latina" no es lo que nosotros Europeos tenemos en la cabeza, ni siquiera un lugar lleno de gente originaro que vive como precolumbianos. Yo he leido muchos textos y si, yo se sobre la discussion, pero decir "volver a America Latina" es con todo mi amor por este continente y con todo carino! asi espero que no se molestan por esos esteriotipos europeos que tambien tengo... "Herzlich Willkommen in El Alto. Die aktuelle Temperatur beträgt ... SIEBEN Grad..." (die Abflugstemperatur in Bs.As. lag irgendwo bei 30) Die Temperatur auf dem Foto wurde IM RAUM gemessen *** "Welcome in El Alto. The actual temperature is .... SEVEN degrees ..." (leaving Bs.As. the temperature was around 30). The picture was taken INDOORS *** Bienvenido a El Alto. La temparatura actual es aproxamiamente ...SIETE grados... (la temperatura en Bs.As. estuve alrededor de 30 grados). El foto fue tomando EN el cuarto
*** Eigentlich wollte ich nur ein paar entspannte Tage mit Freunden aus der Vorbereitungsgruppe in Cochabamba verbringen, aber schlussendlich ist es zu viel mehr geworden... *** The plan I had for my time in La Paz was having some very relaxing days with some friends I haven't seen for ages (part of the group that was preparing the Taizemeeting in Cochabamba), but in the end, it was a lot more than that... *** mi plan fue, irme a La Paz y tener algunos dias lindas tranquilas con mis amigos y ya... pero por fin, fue mucho mas que lo que plane...

1. Que lindo que es La Paz

Christiane meinte, fast alle Freiwilligen, die ihre Zeit in La Paz verbracht haben, sagen, es sei die schönste Stadt der Welt. Ich glaube, ich kann dem zustimmen, auch wenn ich gar nicht so viele Städte kenne, es also vermutlich noch schönere gibt und sowas ja eh immer Geschmacksfrage ist. Aber für mich ist es definitiv nicht nur eine der höchsten sondern auch eine der schönsten Städte! *** Christiane said, that a lot of volunters who spend their time in La Paz said, that it was the most beautiful city in the world. I definitly do think so, even though I don't know that many cities in the world neither, and things liket hat are always a matter of taste. But for me it's not just one of the highest but definitly on of the most beautiful cities in the world! *** Christiane dijo, que los voluntarios de La Paz siempre dicen, que la cuidad es la mas linda del mundo. Claro que hay muchas cuidades que ya no he visto, y que eso siempre es una pregunta del gusto tambien, pero a mi tambien me parece que La Paz (y El Alto) si es la cuidad mas linda del mundo! *** * * * * egal, wo man sich in La Paz befindet, so sieht es um einen rum eigentlich immer aus. Die Stadt ist in ein Tal gebaut, aber die Häuser ziehen sich die Berge hinauf, bis sie ins Altiplano übergehen, wo dann El Alto anfängt. Der Höhenunterschied zwischen den beiden Städten beträgt ungefähr 500m, der Temperaturunterschied ist auch deutlich zu spüren. *** it doesn't matter, where in the city you are, it almost always looks like this around you. La Paz itself is built in a valley, but the houses are following the mountains until they become El Alto, which is the city next to la Paz located in the Altiplano. The altitude difference is nearly 500 m which one can recognise not only by the difference of the temperature. *** no importa donde estas en La Paz, tu vista casi siempre esta asi. La cuidad misma esta construido en un valle, pero las casas siguen las montanas hasta que se cambian en parte de El Alto, que empieza directamente en el altiplano alrededor de La Paz. Hay una diferencia de altura de mas o menos 500m y no solo se nota eso por la temperatura. diese Bergformation nennt sich "der Backenzahn des Teufels". Den kannte ich schon von meinem letzten Besuch, allerdings hatte ich da irrtümlich verstanden "Großmutter des Teufels" ... naja... *** this part of the montains is called "the devil's teeth". I already knew it from my last visit, but that time I missunderstood and thought it was called "the devil's grandmother" ... well... *** este parte de las montanas se llama "la muela del diabolo". Ya lo conoci desde la vez antes, pero en estos tiempos pensaba que se llama "la abuela del diabolo"... bueno... * und das ist der wichtigste Berg der Aymara und damit auch von La Paz und El Alto. Der Illimani, der über die Städte wacht und ihnen seinen Segen gibt. Meistens versteckt er sich hinter Wolken - zumindest war er in den 10 Tagen, die ich dort war, nur einmal so zu sehen. *** this is the most important mountain of the Aymara people and because of that also for La Paz and El Alto. It's called "Illimani", it is supposed to care for the the cities and give them its blessings. During my stay it was only one time seen like that, usually it was hidden behind big clouds. *** y bueno... Illimani, la montana mas importante de los Aymaras y asi tambien de los dos cuidades. El les da su proteyion y tambien sus bendiciones. En mis dias solo una vez se pudo verlo asi claro sin nubes.



Wenn man genug von der tollen Aussicht hat (eigentlich kann ich mir nicht vorstellen, dass das irgendwann mal passiert, aber ich glaube tatsächlich, dass man sich einfach mit der Zeit dran gewöhnt), kann man in La Paz auch ziemlich schön als Tourist unterwegs sein. Zusammen mit einem weiteren deutschen Besucher habe ich mich einen Tag als richtiger Tourist durch die Stadt geschlagen. *** if one is done with the great view (which I hardly can imagine, but i guess, that living there for a long time one day you really just get used to it) you can also be a very good tourist. I did that one day with another german visitor. *** si ya te cansaste de la vista linda (que no me puedo imaginar, pero bueno, probablamente si te acostumbras si vives mucho tiempo (siempre) ahi) tambien hay muchas cosas muy turisticas que uno puede hacer... como yo lo hize con otro turistio aleman.

Angefangen haben wir mit der Kirche San Francisco, die so etwas wie das Stadtzentrum representiert - zumindest fahren fast alle Trufis und Micros dran vorbei, und Demos die von El Alto kommen, laufen auch hier lang. *** We started in the Franscician church, which is something like the center of the city. At least nearly all trufis and micros pass by this place and all demos that come down from El Alto as well. *** Empezamos por la Iglesia de San francisco, que - por lo menos para mi - parece como el centro de la cuidad. Por lo menos pasan por ahi muchissimas trufis y micros y los demos que vienen de El Alto.

Die Franziskaner wollten einfach nur, dass er sich gegen die weiße Wand abhebt. *** this Jesus is really cool - his blue paint doesn't have any meeting, the monks only wanted him to be better seen against the withe wall *** me gusta este Jesus en particular, por que su color no tiene razon. Los monkes solo quisieran que se lo puede ver mejor por la pared blanca ein Miniausschnitt aus dem Prado. Kurz hinter San Franzisko zieht sich ein begrünter Mittelstreifen mehrere Quadras lang. Mit Brunnen und Statuen und eben auch hübsch angelegten Blumenbeeten *** a small part of "the Prado". It's a green part that parts the main street from St. Francisco more or less until the university with some fountains, statues and lots of these nicely arranged flowerpots. *** El Prado - o por lo menos un pequenito parte de eso. Esta como una "calle" en la midad de los dos grandes calles desde casi San Francisco hasta la Universidad. Esta llena de fuentes y estatuas y estas lugares lindas de flores.
das ist DIE Touristenstraße (allerdings sieht man da nur selten welche). Die älteste erhaltene Straße La Paz in der man noch gut den spanischen Kolonialstil erkennen kann. Hier sind ganz viele kleine Museen, als ich das letzte mal dort war, habe ich mir meine Panflötenschule im Museum für indigene Musikinstrumente gekauft... *** This one is THE tourist street of La Paz (even though you hardly see any of them). It's one of the oldest still existing streets of the city, where you can see the stile of colonialist spanish buildings. There are a lot of small museums now, the last time I've been there, I bought a panpipes-book there in a museum for indigenes instruments... *** LA calle de los turistas (aunque en este epocha del ano no se ve tantas), uno de las calles mas viejas de la cuidad, donde todavia uno puede ver el estilo colonional de los espanioles. Hoy en dia hay muchos museos pequenos por ahi, la ultimavez me compre una escuela para la flauta de pan alli en un museo de instrumentos indigenas.

Im Zuge dessen wurde die karierte Fahne zur zweiten Landesflagge. (Sie ist eigentlich die Fahne der indigenen Bewegungen) *** For some time Bolivia has been a "Plurinational state" (as far as i understood, that means that it is acknowleged that there are more than one nation living in the place called Bolivia, with their own law and traditions). Because of that the colourful flag is now official part of the flag of Bolivia (it's usually the flag for the indigenes movements) *** Hace un poco de tiempo, Bolivia se entiende como "estado plurinational" (como yo lo entendi, significa que aceptan que hay differentes nationes/pueblos viviendo en el mismo lugar que se llama Bolivia, con sus tradiciones y leyes diferentes) Por eso la bandera de los indigenas tambien forma parte de la bandera oficial del pais. mein absoluter Lieblingsort sind diese beiden Straßen (von denen man hier nur einen kleinen Ausschnitt sieht, aber die umliegenden acht Quadras sind voll mit solchen Läden). Nicht so gut für meinen Geldbeutel, aber immer wieder herrlich, da einfach durchzulaufen und sich die ganzen hübschen, mehr oder weniger nützlichen, mehr oder weniger typisch bolivianischen Dinge anzugucken. *** my absolut favorite place are these two streets (you just see a small part of it, but more or less the following 8 quadras are full of little shops like that) I love walking through there and watching all the nice more or less useful and more or less typical bolivian stuff... Even though it's better to go there without any money =) *** mi lugar favorito. Dos calles llena de estos tiendas de artesanias... me encanta pasear por ahi y ver las cositas... aun mejor si siempre voy sin dinero =) äh, ja... das gehört zu den Dingen, die ich nicht kaufen würde, die aber dem ganzen Markt seinen Namen gegeben haben "Hexenmarkt". Lamaföten werden, wie man mir erklärt hat, nach Aymaratradition in neue Häuser mit eingebaut, um das Haus und seine Bewohner vor allem Bösen zu schützen. *** well... these are things I would never buy myself, but because of that the market is called "the witches' market". The little babyllamas are put - according to aymara tradition - in the walls of new built houses to protect their inhabitants from all evil. (as far as I was told) *** Bueno, eso no compraria, pero por estas cosas el mercado se llama "mercado de las brujas". Venden los baby-llamas para ponerles en casas nuevo construido, para que cuiden su inhabitantes. (por lo menos asi lo entendi yo cuando mi explicaron) Ein schönes Foto (auf dem man vorallem gut die traditionelle Kleidung der Aymara sieht) aber aus wenig schönem Anlass. Kurz vor meiner Ankunft waren zwei Journalisten von einem falschen Taxifahrer ermordet worden. Weil das Problem "Tod im Taxi" sowohl für den Fahrer als auch für Gäste eine sehr reale Gefahr darstellt (Grund ist immer: Bereicherung am Besitz des Anderen), fordern die Bewohner von El Alto (weil sie am stärksten betroffen sind) die Todesstrafe für solche Verbrechen. Es bleibt - meiner Meinung nach zumindest - zu hoffen, dass es nicht dazu kommt sondern zu einer grundsätzlichen Verbesserung der Sicherheit in beiden Städten. *** it's a nice foto (especialy because you see very well the typical aymara clothes) but the reason for the demo wasn't that nice at all. Some days before I arrived, two journalists were killed by a false taxidriver. "Dead in a taxi" is a very dayly fear both for taxidrivers as for those using a taxi. (it's always about getting what the other person has to become richer and more powerful). Because it's mainly the poplation of El Alto that suffers from this problem, they where asking for death penalty for killing people. I personaly really hope, that they won't get that, but a better securety in their city and he surroundings! *** Me gusta mucho este foto (especialmente por que se ve muy bien la traje tipico de los aymaras de El Alto) pero la razon fue muy triste. Habian dos jornalistas martado algunos dias antes de llege yo, en un taxi. Como este posibilidad "muerte en un taxi" es algo muy probable, sea que el taxista falsa marta a los pasajeros o los pasajeros a los taxistas (siempre por cause de robar el otro), expecialmente la gente de El Alto (como mas parte de todo eso) estaba pediendo la pena de muerte pare estos delitos. Yo, personalmente, espero que no lo logran, pero que si logran mucho mas seguridad por su cuidad y sus familias y sus vidas, por ley o por lo que sea. 2. Out of La Paz Die Tatsache, dass die Kommunikation nicht ganz so perfekt geklappt hat, hat dazu geführt, dass ich die ersten Nächte bei einer supernetten deutschen Familie untergekommen bin (falls ihr das lest: DANKE!!!), die mich am Sonntag mit ins Altiplano genommen haben zu einer Art Aymara-Erntedank-Fest. Viel habe ich nicht verstanden, der Gottesdienst war auf aymara und katholisch, es war mir also alles eher fremd =) Aber sehr interessant und eine superspannende Erfahrung *** given to the fact, that the comunication wasn't that fluent, I stayed the first weekend with a very nice german family, who took me to a mass in a small Aymara village in the Altiplano. As far as I understood, the mass was about thanksgiving for the harvest. But to be honest, I didn't understand a lot, it was all in aymara and catholic, so not that close to my dayly life =) But though it was really interesting and I liked it a lot. *** como no funciona la comunicacion tan fluido, me quedaba unos dias con una familia alemana super amable (!) que me llevaron a un lugar en el altiplano, donde tuve lugar una misa aymara. No entendi mucho como fue en aymara y basicamente catolico, que no es tan familiar para mi, pero fue genial! super interesante!!! * * Jedes Dorf hatte sein eigenes Blumenkreuz dabei, das am Ende vom Pfarrer gesegnet wurde *** every village brought its own flower cross, which was blessed by the priest after the mass *** cada pueblecito trajo su probria cruz con flores, que fue bendecido por el sacerdote despues de la misa * Mitbringessen a la Aymara. Diese Form nennt sich "Aptapi" (zumindest klingt es so), jedes Dorf bringt mit, was es hat, Brot, Bananen, Kartoffeln, Kaktusfeigen... alles wird zusammengeworfen und dann setzen sich alle um die bunten Tücher und essen gemeinsam. *** The amyarian way of picnic. It's called "Aptapi" (at least, that's how it sounds), every brings what they have, selfmade bread, bananas, potatoes, yukas... they put everything together and gather around the colourful clothes and eat. *** Comida a la canasta en el estilo aymara. Si yo lo entendi correctamente, se llama "Aptapi" y cada uno trago lo que tiene, pan, platanos, papas, yukas, lo que sea... y les comparten entre si. =) den Largo Titicaca besuchen war das einzige Ziel (ok, neben "Kauf einer Hängematte") das ich mir für meinen Urlaub in Bolivien gesetzt hatte, und schon am zweiten Tag hat es geklappt. Nach dem Aymaramittagessen sind wir zum See gefahren und saßen da ein bisschen in der Sonne. *** =) visiting "largo Titicaca" was the only point on my touristic to - do list (ok, apart from "buying a hammock") and I've allready been there on the second day. After the Aptapi we went to the lake enjoing the sun for some hours. *** la unica cosa realment turistico que queria hacer fue ir a Largo Titicaca (y bueno, "comprar una amaca" tambien fue punto en la lista). Y ya al segundo dia fue - casualmente. Despues de la fieste en el pueblo aymara nos fuimos al largo, disfrutando el tiempo y el sol. * * * *
3. seeing La Paz from a german point of view

Ich muss leider gestehen, dass ich hier immer wieder merke, dass ich doch viel deutscher geprägt bin, als ich es gerne wäre. Aber ich glaube, manche Sachen sind mir auch nur deswegen aufgefallen. Wie zum Beispiel das Grafiti von Che neben der Uni und der Cartoon der Mujeres creando (eine feministische Gruppe, die sich stark für die Gleichberechtigung der verschiedenen nicht typisch männlichen Gruppen einsetzt) (Leider kann man ihn nicht besonders gut lesen, es geht darum, dass der kleine Junge feststellt, dass eine Familie toll und komplett ist ohne Vater und dann von der Lehrerin vor die Tür gestellt wird, weil er so seltsame Ansichten hat) *** even though I don't like it I have to admitt, that I'm way more german, than I thought i'd be. But on the other hand, some things just came to my mind because of that. Like the grafiti of Che next to the university and the comic of the feminist group "mujeres creando" (unfortunatly you can't read it very well. It's basicly about a small boy who loves his family which contains of him, his sister and his working mom, and he has to leave the classroom, because the teacher thinks, that's not a complete family) *** a vezes aqui me doy cuenta, que soy muy bien alemana, aunque no me gusta eso. Y creo que las siguentes imagines solo vi por eso. El del Che es directamente al lado de la Universidad, el otro es de "mujeres creando" un grupo feminista, emanzipatoria que pelean mucho para los derechos de todos grupos no hombres en el pais. No se puede leer muy bien lo que dice, pero basicamente el nino piensa que su familia es genial y completa con una hermana y una mama trabajando y sin papa. La profe lo echa del curso, porque ella dice, que esta opinion es totalmente una mier.... * *
auch ein Graffiti neben der Uni, hab keine genaueren Infos dazu, aber es vermittelt - mir zumindest - den selben Eindruck, wie viele andere Graffitis in der näheren Umgebung auch. *** that's also a grafiti next to the university, I don't have more information about it, but it was pretty similar to some others around the corner. *** este fue al lado del lugar donde se vendieron el api (*mhhhhhh*) y me gustaba mucho. No tengo mas informaciones, pero me parece muy "tipico" de los grafitis que estuvieron en este parte de la cuidad.



4.Taize: source of neverending happy friendships

Es ist unglaublich, aber es gibt Freundschaften, die einfach weitergehen als hätte man sich das letzte mal vor drei Tagen getroffen, obwohl es genaugenommen schon über fünf Jahre her ist. Ob eine Freundschaft eine solche ist oder nicht, weiß man erst, wenn man sich wiedersieht... Ich hatte keine Ahung, wie es um meine Freundschaften mit dem (großen) Rest der CCB Vorbereitungstruppe steht, aber jegliche Bedenken waren völlig unbegründet. Natürlich haben sich Dinge verändert, wir sind alle älter geworden, haben Studien abgeschlossen, geheiratet, Kinder bekommen, das Land gewechselt... ich habe viel mehr verstanden, konnte mich viel besser unterhalten, wir haben viel mehr getanzt und gefeiert ... aber alles in allem... war es, als hätten wir uns erst vor drei Tagen das letzte Mal gesehen. *** It's incredible, some people you haven't seen for (five) years, and as soon as you meet again, it feels like having seen each other three days ago the last time. I haven't had any idea about how it would be meeting most of the ccb team again, but in the end, there was no reason for any fear. Of course things have changed, we finished studies, started to work, got married, got kids, changed our hometowns ... I understood a lot more this time, could way more easily talk to everyone, we danced a lot more and we celebrated more ... but all in all... it really felt like seeing all of them three days before. *** es impressionante que hay amistades, en cuales no importa cuando se ha visto la ultima vez. Si te vez de nuevo, se siente como si fuera tres dias antes, aun en realidad es mas que 5 anos. Con mi grupo de amigos de CCB me pasaba exactamente eso. Si cambiamos, terminamos estudios, encontramos trabajo, nos casamos, tuvimos hijos, cambiamos del lugar ... yo aprendi mas castellano para comunicar me mucho mejor, celebramos mas y todo... pero basicamente fue... como si no existan fronteras ni diferencias! fue absolutamente genial ve les otra vez, me siente tan super comoda y amada y ... ohhhhh =) MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!!

Ein deutscher Sozialarbeiter hat Isas Projekt besucht um mehr über bolivianische Sozialarbeit zu erfahren und dieses Spiel (die kleine Hexe) dagelassen. Ein richtig schönes - deutsches - Spiel. Ich konnte also gleich weiterübersetzen =) *** A german sozialworker came to interview Isa about how social work in Bolivia works. And he left a game (the little witch). It's a really german game, but very nice. And I just kept on translating =) *** un trabajador sozial vino para preguntar a Isa como funicona el trabajo sozial en Bolivia. Y les regalo un juego bien aleman (de la bruja pequena), que, por razones de la idioma jugamos muchas vezes, para que ellas pueden explicarlo a las chicas de su projecto. Jeden Freitag ist ein großes Taizegebet in El Alto zur Vorbereitung auf das Wochenendtreffen Ende April. *** they do not only meet in small groups to pray, but also every friday night... as preparing for the big meeting in the end of april. *** tambien tienen oraciones mas grandes cada viernes, para prepararse (y los jovenes) al encuentro grande en fin de este mes in Erinnerung an die Zeit in CCB, wo wir das mehr als einmal abends kurz vorm ins Bett gehen noch auf der Straße gekauft haben, weil mal wieder keine Zeit zum essen war zwischen den ganzen Vorbereitungstreffen. (Genaugenommen ist es nicht anderes als Pommes mit gebratenen Wienerle und alles, was man so an soßen hat) *** It's nothing special, but we ate it a lot in CCB, when again there was no time for proper dinner during a bunch of meetings with the parishes. And in memory of this, I just had to eat it again =) *** No es, que salchipapas estan la comida mejor de La Paz (y esta vez pruebe MUCHO!!!), pero en memoria de CCB si habia que comerlo, como lo comemos tantas vezes, cuando no habia tiempo para una cena completa entre los encuentros en las parroquias =)

6. I'm leaving on a jetplane

es ist eine ziemlich doofe Idee morgens um 6 Uhr irgendwo loszufliegen... aber gut, es spart Geld und so bin ich doch noch zu ein paar Fotos des halbdunklen El Altos gekommen *** it's not the wisest idea to leave at 6 in the morning, but well... it saves money and time... and at least I got some nice pictures of El Alto during sunrise *** no hace mucho sentido ir se a las 6 de la madrugada con el avinon, pero bueno, ahorra tiempo y dinero, y asi pude tomar algunas fotos mas de El Alto durante el amanecer *
und jetzt bin ich schon fast seit einem Monat wieder in Bs.As. und stelle fest, dass die Zeit in La Paz absolut genial war - nicht, dass mir das nicht auch in jedem Moment dort klar war, aber irgendwie habe ich das Gefühl, dass es mir auch in Sachen hier in Bs.As. sein viel geholfen hat. Ich wäre nicht mehr eigentlich lieber woanders, mich ärgern viele Sachen nicht mehr, und ich kann vielem eine neue - verdiente Chance geben. Ein grandioser Abschluss der Ferien und ein super Start ins neue Semester =) *** and now, I'm nearly a month back in Bs.As. and I just recognise, that my time in La Paz was brilliant. I allready recognised every single minute I've been there, but it still continue to have an effect. It helped me a lot, getting a new view on my time in Bs.As. as well, giving me the possibility do give things here a new and deserved chance! I don't always wish to be somewhere else or being angry with things that don't work. I just started really living here!!! A great ending of the holidays and a perfect start in the new semester =) *** y ahora ya estoy casi un mes en Bs.As. de nuevo y me doy cuenta cada dia, que el tiempo en La Paz fue genialissimo. No solo para estar alla (que SI, fue genialissimo) pero tambien por mi tiempo aqui mismo. Algunas cosas cambiaron dentro de mi, no se porque pero ya no me siento incontenta aqui... lograba de dar una chance justa a la vida aqui sin desear estar en otro lugar, sin siempre estar enojada por las cosas que no funcionan, pero mas bien, ser feliz que estoy donde estoy y que puedo vivir lo que tengo aqui como nueva experiencia que no esta necesariamente una solucion de emergenica pero mas bien un regalo mas!

nach 10 grandiosen Tagen auf 4000m Höhe bin ich jetzt wieder in Buenos Aires angekommen und auf direktem Weg ins neue Semester (nächsten Montag geht es los, gestern haben wir unsere Kurse ausgewählt). Genau die richtige Zeit um die letzten vier Wochen Ferien zu reflektieren und mit euch zu teilen =) Hier also in chronologischer Reihenfolge die erste Woche: *** after 10 great days at 4000m above sealevel, I just arrived back in Buenos Aires and am on the direct way back to university (the semester will start on monday and yesterday we chosed the classes we want to attemp). Exactly the time to reflect and share with you the last four weeks of holidays =) because of the chronological order, it starts with: *** despues de 10 dias geniales en 4000m altidude, acabo de volver a Buenos Aires y ya en el camino directo al nuevo semestre. (va a empzear el lunes y ayer ya eligimos las clases en cuales queremos participar) Asi el tiempo es perfecto para reflexionar y compartir con ustedes las ultimas 4 semanas de vacaciones. Por el orden del tiempo, empezando con Montevideo Montevideo ist die Hauptstadt von Uruguay und von Buenos Aires je nach Geld das man ausgeben will, zwischen 7 und 1 Stunde entfernt. Wir haben uns für die halbwegs billige Variante entschieden und sind mit dem Boot nach Colonia gefahren und danach mit dem Bus nach Montevideo (das dauert insgesamt ungefähr 5 Stunden). Dabei sieht man eine ganze Menge dreckigen Fluss und grüne Landschaft. *** Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay is - depending on the money you want to spend to go there - 1-7 hours away from Buenos Aires. We chosed to spend not to much money, and it took us three hours by boat and two hours by bus from colonia to montevideo. On that journey you see a lot of dirty river and green landscape. *** Depende el dinero que quieres gastar, el viaje desde Buenos Aires a Montevideo dura entre 1 y 7 horas. A nosotros nos toca 5, 3 por lancha y 2 en colectivo desde Colonia a Montevideo. Si vas asi, puedes ver mucho rio sucio y naturaleza verde.

Die Stadt selber ist direkt am Fluss gelegen, es gibt eine richtig schöne lange Uferpromenade (von der auf dem Foto nur ein kleiner Ausschnitt zu sehen ist) *** as the city it located directly by the river, they have a very nice long promenade (on the foto there is just a very small part to be seen) *** Como que la cuidad esta ubicada directamente al lado del river, tiene una rambla largissima y muy linda (en este foto se ve solo un parte pequenio) eine hübsche Fußgängerzone (auch davon nur ein Ausschnitt) *** they also have a nice pedestrian precinct (also just a small part in the foto) *** una zone peatonal linda (para ver tambien solo un parte chicitito) * viel Grün *** a lot of green *** arto de verde * und noch mehr Wasser *** and even more water *** y mas aqua todavia * * außerdem ist der Mate noch viel viel verbreiteter als in Buenos Aires (wir haben jetzt auch einen hübschen uruguayischen Mate!), die Menschen scheinen damit geboren zu sein. Nicht nur zum entspannten zusammensitzen, quatschen und essen (so, wie wir das Matetrinken vorwiegend kennengelernt haben) sondern zu jeder Tageszeit mit Thermoskanne unter dem einen Arm und Matebecher in der anderen Hand in der Stadt, bei der Arbeit, in der Schulpause... *** apart from that, the Mate is even more common than in Buenos Aires. (YES, of course we also have a nice uruguan model right now!) Not only while sitting together, chatting, eating, relaxing, they drink mate (just as we learnt it meanly) but during all day and in all situations you find people running around, the termo in one, the mate in the other hand... *** El Mate esta mucho mas extendida como en Buenos Aires, y la gente no simple bebe cuando se sente juntos, come, comparte (como nosotros lo aprendimos) pero siempre y en todos los lados lo ves con un mate en una y el termo en la otra mano (claro, que nosotros nos compramos uno de estos mates muy lindos modelo uruguayo =) )

Sehr schön fand ich auch das folgende Plakat, besonders wenn man sich ins Gedächtnis ruft, dass in Argentinien und Uruguay (und vermutlich auch in allen anderen Ländern Lateinamerikas) der Feminismus noch nicht so weit fortgeschritten ist, wie man das aus Deutschland im Allgemeinen gewohnt ist. *** I also liked the following paper, expecially from the german point of view, as we sometimes do recognice that feminism and equalitiy of gender is a bit more developed in our country than in Argentina and Uruguay (and probably most of the other latin american states). *** bueno, este ficha me gustaba muchissimo, especialmente - lo siento - del punto de vista aleman, donde la equaldad de los generos - por lo menos suposamente - ya no es cosa de luchar mas... Auf dem Plakat sind lauter "hausmännliche" Tätigkeiten zu sehen, die aber von Männern ausgeführt werden und die als ARBEIT anerkannt werden. *** you see a lot of usually "women's" work done by men but/and apreciated as real work.

Das Wetter war die ganze Zeit ziemlich gut und wir konnten die Tage entspannt damit verbringen, durch die Stadt zu schlendern, am Strand zu sitzen, dem Wasser zu zu gucken, in Museen zu gehen... richtiger Urlaub eben =) *** the weather was really nice all the time, so we spent most of our time strolling through the city, sitting on the beacht, watching the water and visiting museums... just as holidays should be =) *** el tiempo estuve genial casi todo el tiempo, asi estabamos paseando por la cuidad, sentando en la playa, mirando el aqua y visitando museos... asi como vacaciones deberian ser =)

es ist unglaublich, jetzt ist schon wieder fast ein ganzer Monat rum und es ist einiges passiert (Montevideo, Baradero, Bolivien) aber ich bin einfach noch nicht dazu gekommen, mal wieder ausführlich zu schreiben... Jetzt bin ich auf dem Sprung nach La Paz (Bolivien) *juhu* und wenn ich wieder komme, geht das Semester schon wieder los... habe viele Pläne und Ideen für die verbleibende Zeit, mal gucken, was daraus wird...
Mitte März gibt es hier wieder mindestens einen (wenn nicht drei) vernünftige Eindrücke mit vielen Fotos, bis dahin dies als kleines Lebenszeichen von unserer Seite =)
ach ja, wir wissen jetzt auch, wann wir wieder nach Hause kommen: 9.7. geht unser Flug (ohne es zu bemerkten, haben wir die Halbzeitgrenze also einfach so überquert...)

Now i'm on my way to La Paz (Bolivia) *jippi* and when i'm back the semester will start again... i have a lot of ideas for this time, but i will tell you when i'm back... so in the middle of march i will wirte at least on proper entry (probably three) to update you, meanwhile this as a sign of live that we're still fine =)


Es impressionante que rapido pasa el tiempo... ya pasaba un mes con muchas cosas (Montevideo, Baradero, Bolivia) y no encontre el tiempo para escribir algo ... Ahora mismo estoy en mi camino a La Paz *jajajja* y cuanod vuelvo el semestre va a empezar... tengo muchos ideas y planes, vamos a ver que pasara =) Si o si en la midad de marzo voy a escribir por lo menos uno (si no tres) textos proprios para compartir mi tiempo con ustedes... mientras este texto como senal de vida de parte de nosotros... seguimos bien =)

... rein nach La Plata La Plata ist die Hauptstadt der Provinz Buenos Aires (während Buenos Aires die Hauptstadt Argentiniens ist) und wurde 1880 als solche ausgerufen. Zur Planung wurde ein internationaler Architektenwettbewerb gestartet, so dass die Stadt heute absolut wie am Reißbrett entworfen aussieht. Wie ein Schachbrett mit vier großen Diagonalen und alle sechs Cuadros kommt ein Park. Überhaupt ist La Plata viel viel grüner und auch wesentlich ruhiger als Buenos Aires. Die Gebäude wurden ebenfalls von internationalen Architekten entworfen und der deutsch/französische Einfluss ist nicht zu übersehen. Das Wetter war super, wir haben uns alle (selbst die beiden Columbianer) einen Sonnenbrand geholt (der sich allerdings auch bei allen langsam aber sicher in ein hübsches braun verwandelt). Aus diesem Grund sind die Fotos auch recht gut geworden. *** and into La Plata La Plata is the capital of the province of Buenos Aires (meanwhile Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina) and was founded in 1880. To built the city they announced a world wide competition of architecture, so that today this city really looks VERY planed. Like the board of a chessgame, with four big diagonal streets and a park every six cuadros. That for La plata is a lot greener (and also a LOT quieter) than Buenos Aires.
All the important buildings were as well part of an international competition so that the french/german influence is hardly to ignore.
The weater was just great and all of us (even the columbian guys) burnt our skin. (though meanwhile it is changing into a nice bronce). For that reason also the pictures are a lot nicer than others =) *** y a la Plata La plata es la capital de la provincia Buenos Aires (mientras Buenos Aires es la capital de Argentina). En 1880 la pronunciaron como capital y hicieron una compitition architectural con participantes de todo el mundo para planear este cuidad. Hasta hoy uno puede ver que es una cuidad re planeada. Como una tabla de chess con cuadro diagonales grandes y una plaza cada seis cuadras. En general, La Plata es mucho mas verde (y tranquila) que Buenos Aires.
Para todos los edificios importantes tambien habian competitiones internationales, asi que uno puede ver muy bien la influencia aleman y frances.
El tiempo era super lindo, todos nosotros nos quemamos con el sol (tambien los colombianos) aunque se converte en un bronce muy lindo ya =). Hat mich ein bisschen an die Nachkriegsbetonklötze in Deutschland erinnert.... *** to be honest, I hope that this one wasn't part of an international competition in which the best idea won. It reminded me very strongly of the ugly buildings in Germany just after world war II... *** en realidad espero, que para este edificio no hubiera sido una competition donde ganaba lo mas lindo. Me recuerdó muchissio de los edificios feos en alemania en el estilo post segundo guerra mundial... der Dom * the cathedral * la catedral * hier haben deutsche und französische Architekten zusammengearbeitet, weswegen die Kirche (nicht nur von außen) an Köln und Amiens erinnert. Sie ist die größte Kathedrale dieses Stils in ganz Südamerika. *** german and french architects worked together here, that's why you get strongly reminded of the cathedrals of Cologen and Amiens. It's also the biggest cathedral in that stil in all latin america. *** este catedral fue construido por architectos alemanes y franceses juntos, por eso parece mucho a Colgon y Amiens. Tambien es la mas grande en este estilo en todo america latina. * * * * Auf einen der drei Türme kann man mit einem Lift fahren und die Aussicht über die Stadt genießen. Ganz am Horizont dieses Fotos sieht man angeblich den Rio de la Plata und Colonia (Uruguay) aber was auf dem Foto gar nicht mehr zu erkennen ist, war auch in Wirklichkeit eher erahnt als gesehen. *** There is a lift to one of the three towers from where you can see all ofter the city. In that picture you should see Rio de la Plata and Colonia (Uruguay). It's not possible to see it anymore on the picture but it was even very hard to see in reality. *** Hay un acensor para subir a uno de los tres torres para ver por toda la cuidad. En este foto suposamente se ve Rio de la Plata y Colonia (Uruguay) pero ya en realidad era mas facil imaginar lo a vez de verlo =) Bevor wir ins Naturkundemuseum gegangen sind (keine Fotos, weil das extra gekostet hätte) haben wir noch gemütlich gepicknickt *** before going to the museum of science (there won't be fotos about that, cos you would have had to pay extra) we had a very nice picnic in the gardens *** Antes de ir al Museo de sciencias naturales (no hay fotos porque cobraron extra) hizimos un picnic en el jardin Das Museum selber war auch spitze, eine Reise durch die Geschichte der Erde aus südamerikanischer Perspektive. Fast so gut wie das Naturkundemuseum in Münster :-) Außerdem gab es auch noch eine Ausstellung zu indigenen Gruppen Argentiniens und zur Jesuitenmission, hat sich also auf ganzer Linie gelohnt. *** The museum itself was also really nice, passing to the history of the earth from a south american view, pretty interessting. It also had some small exibitions about the different groups of original people of Argentina and about the mission of the jesuits, so it was really worth going there! *** el museo fue muy muy lindo tambien! Una viaje por la historia de la tierra con un esfuerzo de America latina! Re interessante y bien hecho! Tambien tiene una exibicion sobre los pueblos originales de Argentina y sobre la mision de los jesuitas. Való la pena muchissimo!!!

Leider habe ich von den Tagen kaum Fotos, aber irgendwie laufen die ja auch doch immer und überall sehr ähnlich ab, von daher nur ein kleiner Eindruck *** Unfortunatly I do not really have a lot of fotos about these days, so just very few ones to get a basic overview... Wir dachten erst, wir wären ganz alleine und würden zu zweit in der Sonne sitzen, Mate trinken und den Schnee vermissen, aber dann ist es irgendwie doch ganz anders gekommen... *** In the beginning we thought, that we would be pretty lonesome, sitting in the garden, enjoying the sun, drinking mate and missing the snow just the two of us, but in the end it turned out to be slightly different... *** Primero pensabamos, que vamos a festejar muy solitos, en el jardin en el sol, con mate extranar la nieve, pero por fin era muy differente... Weihnachten * christmas * navidad aus unterschiedlichsten Richtungen kam Weihnachtliches zu uns (ein riesen DANKE an dieser Stelle noch mal!), so dass wir trotz fehlendem Heilig Abend Gottesdienst, Schnee und Plätzchen und sonstiges Weihnachtsgebäck (es ist einfach zu warm) richtige Weihnachtsgefühle aufkommen lassen konnten. *** from different directions we recieved christmasstuff so even if there wasn't any snow, any mass of christmas eve, any cookies and other christmas bakery (it's just to hot to make them) we really felt like christmas. *** differentes personas nos enviaron cosas lindas de navidad asi que aunque no habia ningun culto de 24. ni nieve ni muchas galletas de navidad ni otras tartas y cosas (hace demasiado calor para hacer lo) nos sentimos re de navidad

* um 24.00 haben wir mit ungefähr 25 Leuten aus ganz verschiedenen Ländern und Kontexten auf Weihnachten angestoßen und vorher an einem schön geschmückten Tisch lecker gegessen. *** at midnight we clinged glasses on christmas with more or less 25 people from all over the world after we sat together and ate a lot of nice things on a nice decorated table. *** por la media noche brindamos a navidad con casi 25 personas de todo el mundo y differentes lugares. Antes comimos todos juntos en una mesa grande con decoracion muy linda * Silvester * new year's eve * ano nuevo An Silvester haben wir dann richtig argentinisch gefeiert (auch wenn der Anteil an echten argentinieren verschwindend gering war), mit Asado im Garten. Alle haben wir zusammengehofen, so dass es am Schluss nicht nur ein nettes gemeinsames Essen sondern auch eine lustige Vorbereitung gab. *** We celebrated New Years eve in the real argentinien way, with Asado in the garden, even though there wasn't hardly any real argentiniens. This time we also did the preparation together. *** Nuevo ano si celebramos re argentino (aunque casi no habian argentinos) con un asado en el jadin. Este vez hizimos toda la preparacion juntos, que estuve mas divertido todavia. * * den einzigen "Brauch" den Basti und ich durchgehalten haben, war "dinner for one" zu gucken. Von den argentinischen Bräuchen sind wir keinem gefolgt. Wir hatten keine rote Unterwäsche an (Glück in der Liebe), haben nicht für jeden vergangenen Monat eine Traube gegessen und uns dabei etwas fürs nächste Jahr gewünscht und sind auch nicht mit einem Regenschirm und einem Koffer unter dem Tisch durchgekrabbelt (viel Glück und viele Reisen im kommenden Jahr). Wir hoffen trotzdem auf alles das ;-) *** The only tradition, Basti and I followed, was watching "dinner for one". We didn't follow any of the argentinien ones. Nor did we wear red underwear (happyness in love), nor did we eat grapes for every passed month and wished something for every coming one, nor did we pass with an umbrella and a big baggade under a table (happyness and a lot of travelling). Still we hope for all that ;-) *** La unica tradition que basti y yo cumplimos era ver "dinner for one" (que es muy muy muy aleman). De los tradiciones de aqui no hizimos nada, ni nos vestimos con ropa interior rojo, ni comimos uvas para las meses pasaron, ni pasamos con un paraquas y una maleta abajo de una mesa. Aunque claro que esperamos a mucha suerte en el amor, mucha suerte en general y muchas viajes por el ano que viene ;-)

Es ist Dienstag abend und seit ungefähr vier Stunden warte ich sehnlichst auf Regen. Seit drei Tagen (mindestens) ist die Hitze kaum noch auszuhalten. Anders als angekündigt sieht es aber immerhin heute schon so aus, als würde es ... demnächst ... anfangen zu regnen und abzukühlen. In der Zwischenzeit sitze ich auf unserer Dachterasse (ok ok, eigentlich ist es nicht unsere Dachterasse sondern der Wäschetrockenbalkon, aber so eng muss man das ja nicht sehen) und schreibe endlich mal wieder, was in den letzten drei Wochen so passiert ist. Gleichzeitig versuche ich mich weiter an strukturellen Verbesserungen meiner Beiträge, dieses Mal also weniger Fotos zum gucken als mehr Text zum lesen =) *** It's tuesday evening and since more or less four hours i've been waiting for rain. For three days (at least) the heat has been insufferable. But unlike the weatherforcast said, just now it seems like there will be rain and refreshment ... soon. Meanwhile i am sitting on our roof-deck (well, it's true, to be honest it isn't really our roof-deck, but the place for the laundry to dry... but there is no need in be that pedantic) writing at least about what happend in the last couple of weeks. At the same time I'm trying to organise my essays more and more, so that time there will be more to read instead of fotos =) *** Es martes por la noche y desde de horas estoy esperando a lluvia y mas frio... Desde tres dias (por lo menos) el calor es insoportable. Aunque la prognostico del tiempo dice otra cosa, ya hoy parece que va a llover y frescarse... en algun momento. Mientras estoy sentando en nuestro balcon (bueno, si, en realidad no es nuestro balcon pero el lugar para poner la ropa para secar, pero ...) escribiendo que pasa en los ultimos semanas. Tambien estoy tratando te hacer los escritos mas lindos, por eso este tiempo menos fotos y mas texto =) die Woche vor Weihnachten // the week before christmas // la semana antes de navidad * * Am Isedet war eigentlich gar nichts mehr los, die Examenszeit war mehr oder weniger glücklich hinter sich gebracht (wir haben ... äh ... nur eine Prüfung wirklich gemacht, von daher hatten wir nicht ganz so viel Stress wie unsere armen Komilitonen) und fast alle waren schon auf dem Weg nach Hause (die meisten Studenten hier wohnen ziemlich weit weg, so dass die langen Ferien im Sommer so gut es geht ausgenutzt werden um Familie und Freunde zu besuchen). Mit dem Rest haben wir aber ein paar schöne Stunden verbracht. Vorzugsweise beim Matetrinken: *** Here at Isedet there was nearly nothing more going on, right after passing through the time of exams (as we just did ... one... exam, it wasn't that horrible for us, as for our stressed collegues) nearly everybody went home to see their families and friends (students here live very far away from their homes (that's different in Germany)). With the ones who stayed, we had some really nice hours. Mainly with drinking mate *** Desupes del tiempo de los examines aqui en Isedet no mas pasaba mucho. (para nosotros no era tan horrible, porque no teniamos tantos examines) Casi todos se fueron a visitar sus familias y amigos. Con la gente que se quedaba, teniamos algunos horas muy lindas, con frequencia con mate * außerdem haben noch eine Reihe von Verabschiedungsfeiern *** apart from that we had some leave-takings *** apartir de eso algunas despedidas tuvieron lugar * und anderen netten Festen stattgefunden (hier das Asado bei unserem Geschichtsprofessor, das zufällig auf meinen Geburtstag gefallen ist) *** and other nice parties (this one was the asado at our history profs house, that by accident was at the same time as my birthday) *** como tambien otras fiestas (en este caso el asado en la casa de nuestro profe de historia, que por causalidad tuve lugar el mismo dia como mi cumple) *** * in den letzten 14 Tagen gab es so viele gesellige Begegnungen, dass wir seit fast der gleichen Zeit nicht mehr selber kochen mussten... *** in the last 14 days we had that much nice meetings, that we nearly haven't had to cook for ourselves since than *** en este ultimo 14 dias habian tantas fiestas que casi no cocinamos desde dos semanas...

Die Zeit kurz vor und zwischen den Festtagen haben wir mit planen und vorbereiten verbracht.
Außerdem haben wir finally angefangen Tango zu tanzen. Bei einer Milonga waren wir bisher noch nicht, aber zwei Stunden haben wir schon absolviert. Die Tanzschule ist sehr nett und es macht viel Spaß. Habe mir jetzt eine Zehnerkarte gekauft (habe nämlich auch noch Folklore angefangen), wir kommen also nicht gänzlich ohne Tangokenntnisse wieder =) *** The time between the feastdays passed by with
planing and organisating.
Apart from that we finally started to dance Tango . Until now we haven't been at a Milonga, but we danced two classes allready and we had a lot of fun. I already bought 10 classes (I also started dancing Folklore), so we will return with some knowledge of tango at least =) *** el tiempo entre navidad y ano nuevo pasamos planeando y organisando.
Y por fin empezamos bailar Tango. No fuimos a una Milonga, pero ya teniamos dos clases de bailar y nos divertimos mucho! ya compre una tajeta de 10 clases (tambien empeze bailar folklore) asi que cuando volvemos a alemania si sabemos algo de bailar =)

im neuen Jahr war ich auch schon richtig fleißig. Habe einer Freundin beim Streichen geholfen (Foto folgt) und mit Basti zusammen Wanderschuhe für unseren Urlaub in Cordoba gekauft. (*juhu* Bald gehts los, Planung steht, Fotos und Bericht folgt) Man sollte nicht glauben, wie schwer es ist, in dieser Stadt mit 40/41 Schuhe für Frauen zu finden... aber gut, bei weniger Auswahl ist die Entscheidung dann auch leichter =) *** since the beginning of the new year I went on being busy. I helped a friend with painting her room (foto will come) and went with Basti to buy trekkingshoes for our holidays in Cordoba ( *jippi* soon we will start our trip, it's allready planed, Fotos and experiences will follow). It's incredible how difficuilt it is to buy shoes for women with 40/41 in this city, but well... with little possibilities the decision wasn't that difficuilt. =) *** en el nuevo ano ya estaba muy afanosa, ayude a una amiga pintar su cuarto (voy a poner un foto de eso) y compre zabatos para hacer trekking con Basti para nuestro viaje a Cordoba ( *jajaja* ya es planeado todo y no falta mucho hasta que nos vamos de Buenos Aires. Fotos y experiencias van a seguir! ). Es increible, que dificil se puede conseguir zapatos para mujeres con 40/41. Pero bueno, con menos possibilidades la decision no era tan dificil =)

Außerdem habe ich endlich einen guten Bs.As. Reiseführer gefunden (und ausgeliehen), so dass ich mich demnächst mal wieder als Tourist ins Getümmel schmeißen kann. Am Wochenende haben wir schon angefangen. Neben La Plata sind wir mal wieder ausgiebig über die Feria von San Telmo geschlendert und haben dort in einem netten Cafe entspannt heiße Schokolade getrunken... *** And I finally found a good guide for Bs.As. (and borrowed it from a good friend), so I will start being a tourist again =) This weekend we already started with going to La Plata and San Telmo's feria where we passed by all the nice streetstands and drank a some hot choclate in a nice cafe... *** Y, por fin, encuentre una guia turistica buena (y ya me preste de una amiga buena), asi que voy a hacer otras dias de turistico =) ya empezamos este fin de semana con La Plata y la feria de San Telmo. Pasamos por todas las tiendas pequenias y tomamos un submarino en un cafe muy linda...

Es ist traurig das sagen zu müssen, aber ich war wirklich überrascht, dass es einen so hübschen Ort mitten in Buenos Aires gibt und er nicht vermüllt, verdreckt oder sonstwie verunstaltet ist : Der Rosengarten im Bosque de Palermo (Bosque heißt "Wald", allerdings kann man eher von Baumansammlung sprechen als von einem wirklichen Wald, aber es ist schon ziemlich grün im Vergleich zu den meisten anderen Teilen der Stadt) *** it's pretty sad that I have to say that, but I was really suprised when I saw that beautiful place existing in the middle of Buenos Aires without any rubbish or dirt or other stuff : the Garden of Roses in Bosque de Palermo (Bosque means forest, but in fact it's more a big big group of trees... but still, it's a lot more green than in most of the other parts of the city). *** Me hace muy triste decirlo, pero me soprendio muchissimo, que hay un lugar tan lindo sin basura y sin sucio y otras cosas feas en el centro de Buenos Aires : el jardin de roses en Bosque de Palermo. * * * * * * *
