Meeting the "real Gaucho": Mataderos
"Ferias" finden in Buenos Aires an verschiedenen Orten in der Stadt jedem Sonntag im Jahr statt und sind im Allgemeinen eine Mischung aus Flohmarkt, Handwerksmarkt und Hippietreffpunkt. Man kann dort selbstgemachte Pullover, Matebecher, Armbänder, Cds, Bilder, alte Kochtöpfe ...... kaufen.

"Ferias" are places in Buenos Aires, where every Sunday people try to sell things ... their old used stuff or things they produce themselves or things they do because they are hippies. You can buy basicly everything there, selfmade pullovers, Matecups, bracletes, Cds, pictures, used pans ...... I guess there are few things you can't find there.

jajaja en espanol este parte va a ser mucho mas corto, porque ustedes ya saben que es una feria y por eso no hay que explicarlo =)

Die Feria von Mataderos ist die von uns aus gesehen nächste und aus unserer Sicht eindeutig coolste. Es ist die untouristischste Feria, mit Folkloremusik und Pferdewettkämpfen. Man kann Essen aus dem Norden Argentiniens probieren und hübsche Lederware kaufen. Wir waren hier schon ganz am Anfang, zusammen mit einer Gruppe Voluntarios, zwischendurch noch mal und jetzt wieder mit einer neuen Austauschstudentin, Besuch aus Deutschland und einem Austauschprofessor aus den USA.

The Feria of Mataderos is the one closest to us and from our point of view also the coolest. It's a lot less touristic than the other ones, there is also folkmusic and dance and competitions with horses. One can try food from north argentina and buy very nice leatherstuff. We've already been there three times, in our first weeks with a group of german voluteers, some sunday in the last semester and now again with a new german exchange student, some friends visiting (us) from Germany and an exchange professor from USA.

La feria de Mataderos es mas cerca de nosotros de todas las ferias que hay en Buenos Aires. Apartir de eso, pensamos que tambien es la mas piola. Es mucho menos turistico, hay musica y danza folklorico y competiciones con caballos. Uno puede probar comida del norte de Argenina y comprar lindas cositas de cuero. Ya estubimos tres veces, una vez con los voluntarios de alemania en nuestra primer semana, despues asi no mas para divertirnos y ahora con una nueva estudiante de intercambio de alemania, dos amigas de alemania y un profesor de intercambio de los EEUU.

wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe, können eigentlich nicht mal die Argentinier wirklich sagen, was ein echter Gaucho ist, aber der Gaucho ist auf jeden Fall echt argentinisch.

como yo lo entendi, aun los argentinos no saben que es el gaucho real, aun es obvio, que el gaucho es realment argentino.

Bei diesem wöchentlich stattfindenden Wettkampf geht es darum, dass der Reiter im Galopp unter der Eisenstange durchreitet an der mit einem Magneten ein kleiner Ring befestigt ist. Mit einem sehr kurzen Stab (in etwa so lang wie ein chinesisches Essstäbchen, allerdings ein bisschen dicker) muss er den Ring erwischen, wobei das Pferd so schnell galoppiert wie eben möglich.

during this weekly competition the aim is passing through the iron thing on a horse as fast as possible meanwhile trying to reach a very small metal ring, that is fixed with a magnet, with a rod (the ones you use to eat chinease food, just a little thicker).

El objetivo en este competicion es, sacar el anillito que esta fijada con un imam, con un palito pequeno mientras el caballo esta corriendo lo mas rapido possible.
